These are the sort of words I sing as i drive along anywhere... sometimes to my own little tunes & sometimes picking up the refrain of popular songs, sometimes more of a chant. I think it started out as a simple request for protection that extended out to other road users...

please keep us safe on this road as we travel

keep every one on this road safe from harm

please guide us safely to the place that we go...

Little mantras I repeat, especially when I'm unsure of where we're going or in heavy traffic to calm my nerves & keep me calm. They're not a distraction to driving, quite the contrary... i find myself hyper-aware of other vehicles, anticipating their movements whilst the words keep running in the background. A bit like a computer program, once i've set them running, they just keep going.

Over time I've added phrases & refined words that suit the rhythms I like, and over the course of a long journey my focus may change. I visualise sparkly silver & gold light trailing along behind me, spreading out across the road... sometimes I spread rainbows across a bridge or I send light shooting off side roads or plant a healing vortex over a roundabout.

I might spend a while focussing on individuals cars or lorries, asking that they are touched by love in some way... or sending healing to 'someone who is ready to receive it'...  generally asking that hearts may be opened.... that seeds may be sown.

Sometimes I wind down the windows & sing 'Awen' out to the trees by the road. Awen is the Welsh word for inspiration, which the Druids see more as Divine inspiration... but Om, Shalom, Amen... they are all suitable... powerful words filled with primal energy...

 Last time I was on the road for a long journey, I found myself visualising exhaust fumes transmuting into rainbows... seeing sparkly rainbow trails flowing from other vehicles... just for a few minutes at a time. It's something that i will refine & add to over time, no doubt. 

If you try this, start simple though... a few words of loving intention go a long way & you need to keep your concentration on the road! After a while your initial 'set-up' becomes automatic & you'll probably find you naturally add to the repertoire, at least, this is how it has gone for me. 

And so...

... it is a long time since I have posted here, yet people still stop by and are interested enough to 'follow'... so hello & welcome to those who have recently been drawn to this space, and hello again to everyone else!

When I first started writing here, I thought it would be an extension of my teaching... I move around a fair bit and was spending a lot of time emailing people I had attuned to Reiki, or who were interested in learning. This seemed an ideal way of covering things that arose. But... life took a different direction (as it has a habit of doing!) and for various reasons it was not the time for me to be passing reiki attunements... which sort of swept away the motivation for writing here (despite having many thoughts!)

Intention... intention is the key to anything in life. Clear focussed intention makes the hardest of tasks more achievable... it is necessary in healing... And it was lack of clear intention that has stymied my writing here. I was already writing at Spirit Whispers and for a while toyed with the idea of merging everything over there. Everything here would fit in over there quite easily... but for some reason I resisted...

I'm a person who can have a dozen notebooks on the go at any one time... each with a vaguely specific purpose. Vaguely specific... a contradiction in terms that makes perfect sense to me. Things overlap, fit in more than one place... or written in another way, in another notebook lead to different thoughts. Or I can't lay my hands on the one I want, so any will do... i use what is available at the time, sometimes only a certain book will do. Some lie for ages without anything being written, only to re-surface & be used regularly for ages. I guess I'm the same with blogs!

Anyway... those healing whispers have been calling me, and as I've been writing ideas are flowing & my intention is clear to me again. And so... I shall go with the flow... I'm looking forward to being in this space again!

For the Oil Outpouring

Are you helping or adding to it?.... please resist the urge to judge & utter recriminations, there is time for that later & plenty will do it anyway. If you feel horror, panic or distress, please consciously try to turn it around into hope, focus & strength... send positive thoughts to those actively working in the area... to those working for a solution, to those rescuing wildlife, to those directly affected so far, to the creatures, the plants, the water, etc etc......

Intention works...

 it has been shown time & again both in the scientific world & the spiritual. Visualise the wound closing, healing... the flow of oil from it being plugged... clear, healthy waters returning. Send energy to stem the flow & see it happening as often as you can throughout the day.... every time you boil the kettle...wash up... go to the loo... wait in a queue... once you have the picture in your mind it gets easier to recall the more you try.... associate it with the simple things you do. Actively help.

Here’s a vizualisation/meditation... you can expand on it or you can use parts of it at any time... spend as much time as you need on each part...

Prepare...

 ...set your scene... gather whatever tools or symbols you need to aid your focus & direct energy... perhaps a bowl of water with a floating candle would be appropriate here... crystals, stones... earth energy is vital.... connect to the Earth in whatever way you choose, either literally or through visualization... 

Connect...

See yourself in a place where you connect to the Earth... sitting against a tree, whose roots go deep into the Earth... on a boulder that reaches far into the ground... on a mountain, in a forest, it doesn’t matter, wherever you connect... connect... feel yourself becoming one with the Earth.... feel her steady resolve... feel the heartbeat...

Be part of it...

Take yourself to the source of the out-pouring... feel yourself rising through the earth on the ocean floor... Be there... see the turbulence where the oil meets the ocean... don’t panic, just observe... watch, feel... until you are fully present.... until you are fully part of it... 

Arc of light...

Feel the energy of the earth building in you... moving through you...  building... expanding... when you can contain it no longer, when you are tingling with energy, shoot out a beam of light (i’m seeing gold, but use whatever colour you choose)... straight out, up through the turbulence of the out-pouring.... see it arc above you... a streak of golden brilliance.... see it expand outwards... forming a canopy of light high above you... golden light extending in a brilliant dome that reaches out & down... around... as far as you can see... gradually extending down until it meets the ocean floor in all directions.... See the light forming a dome over the open wound on the sea-bed... holding the turbulence within....

Calm...

Hold it there a while.... letting the energy, the heart-beat, pulse through you... through the oil & water... around the sides of the dome of light... hold the turbulence within... breathe calm into the waters until the turbulence settles... breathe calm... breathe....until the oil knows it is contained... 

Close the dome....

Then gradually draw the dome of light closer.... see it coming closer... down & in.... easing the oil back into the earth.... gently... slowly... contract the dome of light... keep it going... down & down until you are back within the earth... back into safety... and the golden light is sealing the gash in the earth’s crust....

Heal the wound...

Visualize the wound above you healing.... light & earth melding... closing the gap.... see it closing.... see it healing...until you are sealed safely in the Womb of the Earth... relax... you are safe in the arms of the earth.... rest a while.... breathe.... relax & breathe until you feel it is done.... then slowly come back to the place you started.... feel the warmth of the sun & a gentle breeze... hear water trickling somewhere nearby.... & know that all is well.....

Perhaps you would like to add your healing thoughts to the ceremony (10.25am uk time). If the time is inconvenient, you can always do your bit earlier, setting your intention that they arrive at the required time, or that they join with the people taking part at Lake Biwa. If you havn't tried projecting healing over time or distance why not give it a go? It's all about intention & 'knowing' that the energy will go where you ask, when you ask. Just relax & try it... feel it working... feel it flowing... just know....


You may choose to visualise a spiral, spinning out healing energy to where it is needed.... or pure bright light... maybe a rainbow of loving, healing energy arcing over the water.... or visualise water crystals being charged with peace & love... or sit beside water, or hold some in a vessel in your hands, concentrating on the flow of healing to all the waters of the world.... and those with knowledge of the Reiki symbols can use them... why not comment & add your ideas?

For An Unborn Child...

Earlier today I joined with a friend to send healing for her unborn first grandchild (and it’s parents). The baby still has 6 weeks to go until full term, but mum has high blood pressure & baby’s heartbeat keeps dropping dangerously low. Early induced birth is a possibility, and fears of loss hover amongst the family.

We light candles and sit, hands joined, invoking the healing energies, calling on Goddess and Guides for help... we both have our different ways, but a united intent for the highest good of all. Whatever our personal wishes, it is not our choice whether this baby be born into this world or not... we are not privy to decisions made on other levels. 

So we open the channels to healing and we pour love, cocooning this worried couple and their baby with loving, healing energy... asking that they draw it to them, to feel it, to accept it.... my friend asked what colour light she should send... I said whatever feels right... she was sensing sparkly pink light whereas normally she would visualise blue or violet, maybe gold....I don’t think there is a ‘right’ colour, whatever feels right is right at that time... go with the flow... let healing energy flow....

I felt the flow, I felt it around them, then filling the womb... as if they were in the womb too... I felt Divine Love encircling us all... I felt a heartbeat... the heartbeat of the world.... connecting to that unborn child... that precious soul hesitating, wondering which way to choose.... heartbeat of the world... heartbeat of the child...feel the rhythm, remember, what you came to do.... 

Words always come to me, I feel them... others may see things, taste, hear or smell, there is no one ‘right’ way... trust in the flow of healing, be guided by the energy....  

We both felt the heartbeat, we both felt the baby connect with it & steady itself, we both felt that this child will be born, but we both know that this decision is not ours. We continue to offer healing, to surround them all with love, that they may draw on it as they will. Be courageous, precious little soul.


[update: baby girl born naturally the next day- tues 17 march 9.10pm... she wanted to be a pisces! She's small, but doing ok]

Where did I Start?

I truly believe that everyone has the ability to heal… I think it’s something that we have ‘forgotten’. It’s there within our psyche, but for many it is laying there, dormant, unrecognised- just waiting for the conditions to be right in order to flourish.

Luckily, throughout time, there have always been people with that gift… a natural ability to help people heal. Depending on the society in which they have lived that gift may have been encouraged or quashed, respected or feared, used or abused… but it has always been there, a spark of light, an inspiration that has eventually given rise to a world-wide increase in people actively seeking a healing path.

For me, that path gradually opened up… there was no particular event or book that set me on my way. I can’t say that I’ve always been interested or had ability, but equally I can’t say that I had no interest or inkling. Looking back, I can remember situations or conversations that show maybe I did ‘know’, but not consciously & I certainly did not pursue it. Having said that I have always been able to “will-away” pain, and I know many people can, even though they would not consider ‘healing’ in any form or fashion.

Sometimes when someone was ill or in pain, I’d automatically put my hands or rub where it hurt, & often they felt better…. But this was an unconscious action- when I consciously thought about it or offered to see if I could help, nothing happened! It was that instinctive action, like a mother soothing a baby or rubbing better some knock or scrape to her child.

I met a Reiki Master in the course of my business & ‘knew’ it was something I was going to do. It didn’t happen straight away & with a different Master, but as often seems to happen with me, the opportunity presented itself & I took it.

Receiving that first attunement to Reiki was like receiving permission to heal. As much as learning about a technique, it gave me that key to access a latent ability. Like I said at the beginning of this post, I think everyone has that ability; it is just a matter of finding the right key. For me it was Reiki, for others it may be as simple as giving themselves permission.

It is all about intention, & I think this applies to many of us in many areas of our lives… Setting an intention, being clear about what we want to achieve, and then giving ourselves permission to realise it are important aspects, whether it is something physical, mental or emotional.

Welcome...

I have no idea how this blog will pan-out... I do know it is something I 'have' to do. Over time I have written down so much, formulated so many ideas- & changed them (maybe 'refined' is a better description), helped & been helped by so many people... Hopefully some of my thoughts will be of help to you. Whether you agree with or accept anything I say is irrelevant- if you take the time to read this, then my ideas become catalysts for your own even if you reject mine. In fact I would say do not simply accept anything you read... mull it over, feel the sense of the words and the energy behind them... use your intuition. Only accept what you feel, know, is right for you at this time.

There are many things that I have heard or been told that I could not accept at the time... but as time goes on some of these ideas float back. Sometimes I still reject them, or maybe they help understand a point of view I come across... sometimes it sparks a train of thought that helps me reach some understanding of either the original idea or of something completely different! We are continually learning as we move through this life- some things don't make sense until we gain more knowledge or experience... but we never stand still.

There will be no particular order or format to this blog as there is no specific start or end point. Everyone is at different levels, not higher or lower, just different. There is no right or wrong way, just different ways that individual people find better for them.

I can tell my way, that is all- I am not telling anyone what they should do. It is my intention to help, to encourage, to inspire, to provoke thought... and satisfy my need to write & share! I hope you pop back from time to time and contribute with your thoughts & comments.
